Tony's is the best, I was fortunate to grow up here in Gastonia. But my dad was in the Army & remarried giving me 2 younger brothers & a stepmom that wasn't so fortunate to live here. From base to base country to country coming home to visit meant a visit to Tony's. Now my brothers are grown with families of there own & still they come home & introduced their kids to Tony's. <\/strong><\/div>\n

When I was a teenager, living in N. Belmont, it was a real treat to pile at least 8 in the car after church on Sunday evenings and head to Tony's! I moved away in 1962 and when I returned to N.C. in 2003 and walked into Tony's, it was like returning to my teen years! Now, my grandchildren are enjoying the best ice cream ever! The greatest childhood memory I have is my father taking me to Tony's for a Chocolate milkshake. We didn't have much but he seemed to find the money to take me. i use to come down from washington, d.c. in the early 50's. my mother would come to tony's for milk shakes. i brought my wife and daughter there last summer. my mother was born in gastonia. she was a biggers. my counsins still live there. it was such a wonderful suprise to see tony's was still there. the shakes were so big i was the only one that finished theirs. i live in philadelphia now but i'm willing to drive down for a milk shake and see my counsins. in that order.<\/strong><\/div>\n
